3rd Junior and Youth European Championship
The Third Junior and Youth European Championships were held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield in October and attracted over 160 competitors.

2016 SOTR was hosted by Dick Todd at the Thanet Martial Arts Centre.

2016 British Open Championships
2nd British Open Aikido Championships was held in June at Dartford Judo with players from the BAA, SAUK and visiting guests from Shodokan Spain.
2016 BAA Spring School
2016 Spring School was again hosted by Winchester Judo & Martial Arts Club.
Coaches for this school were Paul Holding 5th Dan, Bob Jones 7th Dan, Lesley Hepden 8th Dan, Paul Wildish 7th Dan, Tony Davis 6th Dan (Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu) and Lindsay Comens 3rd Dan.
