Akeru Aikido Club

Akeru Aikido is a Tomiki Aikido Club providing fully inclusive sensory friendly family classes for children with additional needs or emerging additional needs in Tameside and the Greater Manchester area. Akeru Aikido allows additional needs children who would otherwise be at risk of social isolation the chance to learn a unique skill, build confidence, work towards being able to advocate for themselves, help maintain their well-being and make lasting friendships.

Alex Webster – 1st Dan

Alex has been practising Tomiki Aikido since 2006. She has a daughter with complex additional needs. Akeru Aikido club was founded to be a safe, welcoming and inclusive community club for neurodiverse children and their families in Manchester and the surrounding area.

Akeru Aikido is dedicated to providing a safe, friendly, open and inclusive environment for all students to learn and feel welcome. The club core principles are: respect, friendship, well-being, teamwork & family.
