In accordance with WSAF regulations, referees, judges, and staff involved in this tournament are required to attend any one of the training sessions that shall be held in Tokyo and Osaka on Sunday, July 9th and in Osaka on Friday, July 14th.

Accommodation: Please note that there are many hotels near JR Nara Station and Kintetsu Nara Station, from which the venue can easily be easily accessed.

Shodokan Aikido Federation shall not be responsible for arranging accommodation for officials, staff, or athletes. We ask that each person or group make their own arrangements.

6. Participation/ Entry Fees:

Championship section: 6,000 yen

Youth Division: 4,000 yen

If any participant joins both the Senior Championships (mixed team event) and the Youth Division, please pay the entry fee for the Senior Championships.

The above competition entry fees do not include lunches or the fee for the party scheduled for Sunday, 16th July.

7. Events:

A. Championship Division (Senior)

Participants in this division must be at least 18 years of age (with the exception of the first three portions of the mixed team event which are open to players between 16 and 18 years old).

1. Embu: Basic randori no kata (17 empty-handed techniques; kyu grades)

2. Embu: Basic randori no kata (17 techniques against tanto; dan grades)

3. Embu: Free kata (empty-handed; within 2 minutes)

4. Embu: Koryu goshin no kata (16 empty-handed kneeling, hanzahandachi, and standing techniques)

5. Mixed team event (7 people per team)

Koryu goshin no kata (8 empty-handed kneeling and hanzahandachi techniques; open to players from 16 years of age)

Koryu goshin no kata (8 empty-handed standing techniques; open to players from 16 years of age)

Tanto taisabaki (Kyu grade players; open to players from 16 years of age regardless of gender)

In the Youth Division (Junior/Youth/Cadet), participants may only enter a maximum of two embu event. Past the entry deadline, double entries (overlapping participation) may be permitted only after the Executive Committee has determined that it is unavoidable due to unforeseen health issues.

Whilst junior athletes may compete in the Youth events and youth athletes may enter the Cadet events, they are not permitted to participate in tanto events (taisabaki competition/randori competition) or embu events in both divisions.

Participation in both tanto taisabaki and tanto randori competitions is not permitted in the Youth category.

For the Youth Division, please enter your age as of Sunday, 16th July, 2023. For example, if your 12th birthday falls on 17th July, you may enter events in the Youth Division
